Anurag Kashyap Shuts Everyone Who Is Calling ‘Newton’ The Copy Of ‘Secret Ballot’

After the announcement that Rajkummar Rao Starrer ‘Newton’ is India’s official entry for the Oscars this year, the movie has got a lot of attention from the mainstream audience and the Box Office collection of this movie is the result of that, the movie opened with 90 lakhs on Friday and on Saturday the number becomes approx.. 2.5 crores, now that’s huge. But with the mainstream attention, there also came a lot of criticism for the movie, A lot of people are saying that ‘Newton’ is the copy of 2001 Iranian Film ‘Secret Ballot’, which has the same plot and yes it is inspired by that film but not entirely copied. Last day, the movie was on trend for wrong reasons, people were bashing ‘Newton’ for being the copy of ‘Secret Ballot’. Now, this is weird because a day before people were praising the film as it is the official entry for the Oscars. To respond the trolls, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap took the matter on his hands and destroyed everyone who was trolling the movie for being the copy of ‘Secret Ballot’ in the series of tweets. Now, this is not the first time, the filmmaker has done something like this, he is known for standing up for the wrongs in the Industry. Last year, at the time of the release of movie ‘Udta Punjab’, Anurag took a stand to make sure the movie releases and now this. The credit for the movies like ‘Newton’ and ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ getting the mainstream attention by the audience goes to Anurag Kashyap, he is among the director to make these kinds of realistic films in the Industry without getting the Box Office numbers and we should respect him for that, he is the one who has changed the Industry. ‘Newton’ is a good choice for the Oscars, let’s see whether it makes to the final five or not, if it does then it will be the first film to do so since 2001 film ‘Lagaan’.
