Thalaivi, the upcoming Bollywood 2020 movie had rumours and speculations of getting a digital release on OTT platform. However, Taran Adarsh, film critic and biz analyst earlier today dismissed and falsified the news of the film getting an OTT release. Taran Adarsh shared the information on his official Twitter handle mentioning that the news is false and that the movie will have nothing other than a theatrical release. To the satisfaction and content of Jayalalithaa fans, Thalaivi would first premiere on theatres and the digital release would follow after. The film critic also shared a poster of Kangana Ranaut dressed as the late politician and actress Jayalalithaa. The much-awaited movie has also garnered widespread attention, fame and popularity and is slated to hit the theatre screens on 26 June, 2020.
Amid the coronavirus scare and lockdown, many movies are set to release digitally, Gulabo Sitabo being one of them. As theatres and cinema halls have been shut down in order to prevent further spread of the virus, speculations were that Thalaivi would also release digitally as the movie is anticipated and Jayalalithaa fans have been waiting for its release. However, many people had wanted the movie to appear on the big screens following which this information has come as good news among fans. The lead role of the renowned politician and famous celebrity Jayalalithaa has been bagged by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. The film has an ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta. Kangana Ranaut was reportedly quoting saying that Thalaivi is great only for the bigger screen and should be enjoyed by lovers of the big screen. The biopic is directed by A. L. Vijay and the release might get postponed following lockdown.
