Movie Review: Qarib Qarib Singlle - Irrfan Khan, Parvathy

PLOT:- The story of the movie revolves around Yogi, played by Irrfan Khan and Jaya, played by Parvarthy who end up in the most eventful and crazy trip of their lives, they move all the way through Rishikesh, Bikaner, and Gangtok, and get to know about themselves and self-discovery.

REVIEW:- ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ is a light-hearted, sweet film, which will entertain you in every aspect. The theme of the movie is really interesting; Yogi and Jaya meet through a dating website and Yogi decides to take Jaya for a special trip, visiting his three ex-girlfriends.

Irrfan Khan as Yogi is awesome; we; he is always awesome, every time he comes on screen, you laugh, his character in this movie is something which he has never done before and he is just amazing in his role, he has some funny lines in the movie, he is humourous. There is a scene in the movie where he tells Parvathy that he has a lot of money, and Parvathy replies, “you might have a lot of money but I can manage”, Irrfan then tells her that he like feminist women and it is shown in the funniest way possible. Now, Parvathy, who is making her Bollywood debut with this film is probably the best cast opposite Irrfan Khan, over the years we have seen Irrfan with a lot of talented actresses but here with Parvathy, he is just awesome, she matches his awesomeness as a performer, her character is very sweet, she is playing an independent girl in the movie and her chemistry with Irrfan is just awesome.

The movie is well written, this script is probably one of the best scripts in Bollywood, we have seen in a long time and this film is one of the best adventurous films in a while. The story is very simple; two people meet through a dating app and decide to go on a journey. We get to know more about both the characters as the time passes in the movie and it is beautifully shown.

Both the actors take this film on their back. The music in this film is light-hearted and will entertain you, the background score is fresh and compelling and it is exactly what a movie like this should have. This is a desi version of Imtiaz Ali film. Now, let’s talk about the most important aspect of the movie, the direction, Tanuja Chandra, who has directed movies like ‘Sangharsh’, ‘Ye Zindagi Ka Safar’ and ‘Dushman’ comes back with this light hearted adventurous flick, it is nothing like her previous film and she does a great job here.

WHY TO WATCH:- There’s no question of why not to watch this movie, this is a must watch film, this week. It will make you laugh in the theatre and it will give you a fresh idea of romance. Irrfan Khan continues to shine as an actor and it’s a powerful debut of Parvathy.
