‘Parched’ Director Leena Yadav Approached Rishi Kapoor For Her Next Movie Titled ‘Rajma Chawla’

Leena Yadav, who previously directed critically acclaimed film ‘Parched’, is set to make another film titled ‘Rajma Chawal’ featuring veteran actor Rishi Kapoor in the lead role and it will start from 7^th November and is expected to finish by December. The movie will revolve around the life of father and son, showing the generation gap. Anirudh Tanwar will be playing Rishi’s son in the movie. Leena recently stated that the idea behind this movie is to show the generation gap and the parents and their children, “today people will rather chat on the phone over having a proper conversation and this affects parent-children relationship”, she said. She also said that she is very happy to have Rishi Kapoor in the movie. Talking about Aniruth, who is the other lead in the movie, she said that he is a trained actor and she wanted to work with him for a long time. Amyra Dastur will be seen in the movie as Anirudh's love interest and according to Leena, she will be playing a major role in the movie, she even said that Amyra’s character is as important for the film as Rishi’s and Anirudh's. Now, this obviously looks way different than her previous film ‘Parched’, which was a hard-hitting socially relevant film. ‘Rajma Chawal’ is a film of different genre and it’s good that Leena is steeping in as the director of this film; it challenges her capability as a filmmaker. Rishi Kapoor has some interesting projects in his hand right now, which includes ‘Mulq’, where he will be seen as a Muslim man and ‘102 Not Out’, where he will portray the role of a 75-year-old son of 102-year-old Amitabh Bachchan.
