Fatwa issued against Jimmy Shergill for his upcoming film 'Shorgull'

Controversy related to Jimmy Shergill and Ashutosh Rana starrer film 'Shorgul' is not wrapping up. Based on Muzzafarnagar Riots. This film got banned in several cities of Uttar Pradesh, now a fatwa has been issued against Jimmy Shergill. Release date of this film has been extended to one more week. Let me tell you, Shorgul which was to release on 24th June, it's release date has been shifted to 1 July. This Fatwa is issued agaisnt Jimmy Shergill by Khamman Peer Baba Committee for hurting the sentiments of Muslims. Shorgul has been banned in Muzzafarnagar, Kanpur and Ghaziabad and Lucknow. So Filmmakers are to meet UP Cm Akhilesh Yadav. Vijay Singh one of the producer said, 'We have been force to extend the release date of our film. There are lots of doubts over films screening.' Vijay said, 'Desite our repeated reassurances there are certain theatre chains who have maintained their stand of nor showing the film. As first time producer we find ourselves in a handicapped situation.' He said, 'There is strong message for common man. We hope to receive support from the public to ensure a smooth release on the proposed new date.' Producers of Shorgul said that in Muzaffarnagar, film has been banned. Issue of 2013, Muzaffarnagar riot has been shown in the film. So that's why collector of the city has given stay on showing of this film in Muzaffarnagar. Film has also raised issues of Godhara, Babri Mosque and alsobureaucratic misdoings, mind games and controversial master strokes of some high profile dignitaries.
