Case Filed Against Makers Of Baahubali - 2: Kattappa's Dialouge Offends A Community

Baahuabli: The Conclusion continues to rule at the box office, smashing innumerable records. Usually, when all things are going good, controversies are bound to happen and Baahubali also couldn’t escape one. Recently a complaint was lodged by Members of community Arekatika Porata Samithi at Banjara Hills Police Station Hyderabad, against the makers of the movie. The reason they gave for the complaint was that in one of the scenes Kattapa has used the word “Katika Cheekati.” As per them, Katika is a cast slur. “We Katika people indulge in the trade of butchery, to sell meat of goats, sheep, and hens, to provide healthy food to the society, as part of our livelihood. We are not harsh, inhuman and anti-social people as the movies try to portray us,” they said in their complaint, as quoted by The News Minute. They also said that the movie has certain anti-social elements in it too that casts a wrong impact on the children on their community. They have urged the censor board to remove the dialogue from the movie. The report says that police hasn’t filed a case based on the complaint, as of now. Earlier Kannada people also opposed the release of Bahubali 2, in Bangalore and the reason behind was Actor Sathyaraj, who played the character of Kattappa on screen. A few years back the actor made an alleged anti-Kannada remark in the context of Cauvery river water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Later the issue was resolved when Kattappa apologized for the same. You May Also Like Bollywood Movies 2017 Box Office Collection Upcoming Movies List
