Ankita Lokhande To Make A Bollywood Debut With 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi'

The television soap-opera’s favourite Ankita Lokhande, who ruled the television with her show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ is now all set to make her Bollywood debut. The movie that will witness Ankita Lokhande in an important role is Kangana Ranaut's upcoming period-drama ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ which is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Kamal Jain from Zee Studios and is likely to release in April next year. In the movie, Ankita will be seen playing the role of Jhalkaribai, who was the right hand of Rani Laxmibai, the role Kangna will be playing. Jhalkarbai was an integral part of her army and she had an uncanny resemblance to Laxmibai and often acted like her body-double. She later sacrificed her life to protect her queen. Talking about her role in the movie Ankita said, "It is a very challenging role and I am indebted to Kamal sir for offering me this challenging and important role in such big-budget movie that is scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad”. She further added, "I was not aware of Jhalkaribai and her important role in our history, and now I am proud to get her story live.” Apart from Ankita Lokhande, another soap opera star, Mouni Roy is also all set to make her Bollywood Debut with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gold’.
