Udta Punjab will be shown to AIMS Doctor

Authorities of National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC) of AIIMS has decided to see film Udta Punjab, to make doctors aware of different aspect of Drug Abuse and Addiction. A Senior Doctor of here told, The movie show addiction of drugs in youth and it's circumstance. It also showed Drug abuse, toxicity and health. He further told, In the film, it is said that Drug abuse incites criminal activities and the nexus between the criminal elements and pharmaceutical industry. It is also told that these medicines are so powerful that if anybody is inject, then he or she gets addicted to it. Same happens with Alia Bhatt. Doctor told that the objective of seeing the film is to make the resident doctors aware of all the aspects of substance use which can help them in treating a patient. Recently this decision was taken that AIIMS, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, will conduct a survey to compile national and state-level estimates of people involved in drug abuse. The two year-long survey will identify the proper service to anyone addicted to drug and the gaps in service delivery. In 2001, such kind of Survey was done figures came in 2004.
