Review Movie: Bhoomi - Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari

Plot: A story of a single father and his daughter, who gets gang raped just a day before her wedding and everything in their beautiful life shatters. And then to put their life together the daughter and father duo decide and plan together to take a revenge.

Review: The movie had much hype around it being a Sanjay Dutt comeback movie, and while watching the movie you are able to understand what was missing from the silver screen. The actor proves yet again that his screen presence, attitude and aura was missing and with the movie the actor is surely back with a bang.

The first of the movie gives us a glimpse of the Father Arun (Sanjay Dutt) and Daughter Bhoomi (Aditi Rao Hydari) world. Their cute banter adds to the feel-good factor in the movie, which is then followed by the sweet romance between Bhoomi and fiancé (Sidhant Gupta), we get to see Shekhar Suman also on the screen after a long time and he makes sure to give you good laughter moments. Everything is going good but then one day, Bhoomi is gang-raped and things change for the family and everyone around.

There is nothing new in the story of the movie and at instances, it is very much predictable. The courtroom scenes with ugly, mudslinging and fake allegations will make your blood boil. But yes the makers have given it a makeover keeping in mind today’s mindset.

All the actors have done a fine role in the movie; Sanjay Dutt is just awesome in his role of a father and Aditi has also given a brilliant performance, Sharad Kelkar in his badman role is also fine and appears to be a Villian straight out of the 80’s.

Why To Watch: It is not a story that hasn’t been told, but yes the performances do need a special mention and are worth watching and appreciating. So watch it if you like Sanjay Dutt and experience his larger than life aura while whistling when he is killing the bad people.
