Yash Raj Films Faced Big Loss With The Release Of 'Qaidi Band'

Recently Yash Raj Films, Habib Faisal directed movie 'Qaidi Band' released. The movie launched two newcomers Aadar Jain and Anya Singh in the movie and it was expected to be a massive earner at the box office. However, the movie has performed rather poorly at the domestic box office. The movie ‘Qaidi Band’ was made under the big banner of Yash Raj Films and was made on a budget of Rs. 21 crore in which the cost of production was Rs. 15 crores and promotion and advertising cost was Rs.6 crore. The movie makers didn’t do high scale promotions of the movie and probably that was the reason that the movie performed rather badly. The movie went on to earn only Rs. 35 lakhs at the Box Office in its first week of running at the Box Office. The Yash Raj Film somehow managed to draw Rs. 15 crores from the sale of the satellite to Sony Channel and music and digital rights to Amazon. In the past also the YRF movies have faced such situation but every time they were able to recover the production expenses from the sale of the satellite rights and digital rights, but that is not the case with ‘Qaidi Band’. This time the production house has incurred a loss of Rs. 5.84 Crore.
