Slumdog Millionaire girl Freida Pinto wants women-centric films

Strong female characters is the requirement of the hour and not female lead roles, says actor Freida Pinto. She is also happy with the changes taking place in the Bollywood film industry. She was spotted on the sets of ongoing International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) in Madrid. Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and veteran actor Anil Kapoor were seen along with her. She also said that she is happy seeing the changes taking place in Indian cinema. She also mentioned Mary Kom of Priyanka Chopra and Queen of Kangana Ranaut. Freida Pinto is of the opinion that depth of the character is more important. She also said that it is possible to do great films at lower budget if all (actors and technicians) do a little ‘sacrifice’ a small cut off pay. If the story is great, I am not worried over the budget, said Freida Pinto. I will be focusing on more women-centric films, concluded Freida Pinto.
