'Phullu' Box Office Collection Day Wise, Hit Or Flop

On 16th June movie, ‘Phullu’ released, starring Sharib Hashmi, Jyotii Sethi and Nutan Surya. The movie directed by Abhishek Saxena had a unique storyline that aimed at spreading awareness about the basic women needs during their menstrual cycle. The movie with an average star cast made in a low budget did a business of approximately Rs. 40 lakhs* the domestic Box Office collection on its opening day. The movie though had a strong message and touched a topic which has never been taken up by anyone so far in the industry; the movie has managed to impress viewers to some extent. The movie throws light on the importance of discussing the topic, especially in rural areas, which is still a taboo in the country. The movie is good enough to be showcased at the schools to generate the awareness amongst the kids. The movie’s release day also witnessed the release of movie ‘Bank Chor’ which has a known star cast of Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi. It is a comedy movie and is expected to fare well at the box office and that may pose a threat to ‘Phullu’s overall collection. Another thing that is sure to hamper the collections of 16th June releases is the ICT cricket final, on Sunday the 18th of June where India will be seen competing against Pakistan. So making a verdict on the movie being a Hit Or Flop can only be done based on one more week's collection in consideration.
