The Multiplex Association of India Submits Safety & Precautionary Plan For Cinemas

In view of the current coronavirus pandemic outbreak all across the world, the Multiplex Association of India today, has come out with a plan for the cinema halls all across the country. Keeping in mind the safety of people and the need to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Association has submitted an enhanced, well-developed safety and precautionary plan for cinema to the Information & Broadcasting Ministry and the various state governments. The plan happens to be a very important and efficient development for the cinema halls and theatres.

In the plan, important mandates regarding minimal human contact, adhering to health, hygiene and social distancing norms have been mentioned. A disinfection and cleanliness plan has also been mentioned in order to continuously disinfect all possible areas of the cinema. Body temperature of the audience will be checked, hand sanitizers, masks and PPE kits will be made mandatory and available. A seating procedure is mentioned wherein couples, family and friends would sit together, while an adjacent seat would be left empty. Digital payments for contactless ticket and meal purchase is also proposed in the plan. Apart from these precautions, the employees will be made to download the Aarogya Setu app and wear masks and gloves at all times. Besides, other important steps for the hygiene in washrooms and disposal of items, along with the cleanliness of staff has also been submitted. The Multiplex Association has decided to implement the plan for two months, first and then decide to a mutual review of the plan.
