Plot-The movie is about four people, who have their own set of struggles in life living and coping up in the metropolitan city of Delhi. The movie traces the complexities of the characters and how the get connected with each other on the journey of life and also uncovers the truth behind the city’s high-class lifestyle. The director has explored various shades of issues that are mostly sidelined by our society.

Review:  The director Onir is known for getting the best of human emotions and physic on screen from his past work and this time again he does a tremendous job in ‘Shab’ by highlighting the dark world of Delhi and the unconventional relationships in the shadow of the city’s high-class lifestyle. This time Onir takes a leap into the otherwise forbidden zone and highlights the complexities of such peoples life.

Out of the four characters of the movie, one is Mohan played by debutant Ashish Bisht is a small town boy who has big dreams. IN order to peruse his career as a model comes from a small town Dhanaulti to Delhi. But the boy gets mocked by the judges as he lacks the finesse it requires to be a model. Next, is Sonal Modi played by Raveena Tandon, a rich woman whose married life is bleak, and who happens to be one of the judges where Ashish went for auditions and falls for him and his boyish charm and decides to use him as a boy-toy.  Then there are Raina played by Arpita Chatterjee and Neel played by Areesz Gandii who become Mohan’s friends and are caring, helpful and hard-working

Onir’s brilliant direction handles the characters and their life’s story quite efficiently.  In every frame, you get to see direction brilliance. Raveena Tandon for sure takes all the credit here for her role as a sensual performance. Her experience in acting definitely speaks through the role she has played in the movie. At one place she is demanding, dominating and authoritative when she is with Mohan and on the other hand, she is a caring wife when she is around her husband, the role played by Sanjay Suri.

‘Shab’ is definitely Onir’s darkest movie till now and a movie that shows human emotions, relationships, love and betrayal that very much flourish in our rather opportunistic and materialistic elite society.
