‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ Makers Prepone Release To Avoid Clash With ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’

When we heard that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will clash on 11^th August, everyone got excited. And it was being considered as one of the biggest Box Office clash of the year. But the makers of the movie made a wise decision and now, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ will release a week prior to ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. This is because the makers of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ didn’t want to take a risk. And it does make sense, as Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar both are big Bollywood stars and have a huge fan following. Imtiaz Ali has taken a right decision to avoid the clash from a business point of view. It is indeed sensible to do so as both the movies have crores of money and efforts of the actors involved. Such clashes can incur a huge amount of loss. Last time we saw a big clash of movies was this year in January with SRK’s ‘Raees’ and Hrithik’s ‘Kaabil’, and both the movie got success. However, ‘Raees’ won in terms of collection, but the collection was not even close to what was expected. ‘Kaabil’, on the other hand, shocked the world and collected more than 100 crores. Last year at the same time near Independence Day, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ was released with Hrithik’s much-awaited period film ‘Mohenjo Daro’. With Akshay’s powerful performance in ‘Rustom’ shined at the box office, whereas ‘Mohenjo Daro’ with not so strong storyline fell flat at the Box Office. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ will now release on August 4, whereas ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will release on its original date of 11^th August.
