Box Office First Day Collection Of ‘Mr Kabaadi’, ‘Sameer’, ‘One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film’, and 'IT'

Last Friday was a busy one at the Box Office, with 6 Bollywood releases, and one Hollywood Release. In Bollywood, the movies were ‘Mr Kabaadi’, ‘Sameer’, ‘One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film’, ‘The Rally’, ‘Poster Boys’ and ‘Daddy’ and the Hollywood movie was ‘IT’. The movies ‘Poster Boys’ and ‘Daddy’ being big budget movies did a decent business at the Box Office on their opening day while the others had to struggle with low occupancy rates at the theatres. ‘Mr. Kabaadi’ which was promoted as late actor Om Puri’s last movie actually had his cameo and the main actor in the movie was Annu Kapoor. Apart from him, the movie had a team of seasoned actors in it like, Vinay Pathak, Sarika and two debutants Rajeev Singh and Ulka Gupta. The movie was directed and written by Seema Kapoor and it went on to earn Rs. 0.06 Crore on its opening day. The future of the movie at the Box Office Collection window looks bleak as the movie has got bad reviews. The movie ‘Sameer’ which was an intense thriller drama went on to earn Rs. 0.03 Crore. The movie brought out the truth of the various political and government institutions truth and has even won awards at the International Festivals. And the reviews that the movie has got are also positive so over the weekend the movie might pick the pace. The ‘One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film’ is something that is for a certain kind of audience. It is the first of its kind movie to be released in theatres and is tend to appeal only the music lovers or the fans of A R Rahman. The movie went on to earn Rs. 0.03 Crore at the Box Office. The movie’s future in the theatres doesn’t appear to be strong. The Hollywood movie ‘IT’ so far has received a positive response in the US and in comparison to that the movie has got a moderate one in India. The movie belongs to the Horror genre and starred Jaeden Lieberher, Bill Skarsgård, Finn Wolfhard. From the trailers and the poster, the movie looked scary and horror is a genre that people love to watch at theatres. The movie went on to earn Rs. 0.02 Crore on its opening day and the collections are expected to go high over the weekend as the movie is getting rave reviews across the internet and social media circles.
