Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Pahuna’ Unveiled At Cannes Film Festival, Team Has High Hopes

First look of Priyanka Chopra’s produced Sikkimese film ‘Pahuna’ unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival on 21st May. This is the fifth film of Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’ and her first Sikkimese film. Unfortunately, Priyanka couldn’t make it to Cannes for the unveiling of the trailer of the movie but her mother Madhu Chopra and brother Sidharth Chopra attended the trailer launch. Madhu stated that it’s a great accomplishment for the people associated to 'Pahuna' to attend the prestigious festival. It movie unfolds the story of three Nepali children, who get separated from their parents while running from the agitation of Sikkim and Nepal. The director of the film Pakhi Tyrewala opened about her experience of visiting Sikkim. She said, “When I went to Darjeeling and Gangtok thirteen years ago. I was accepted by the people easily, they were treating me as I was one of their own. I forgot that I was a guest and began to see those mountains as my home and that changed my life.” The actress turned director also said that she wanted to make something like ‘Pahuna’  for a long time. “I wanted to show the beauty of Sikkim but also the beauty of the people. ‘Pahuna’ is the story of Sikkim, and people would love to see,” she said. The team has high expectations with ‘Pahuna’. Tyrewala says that she hopes that the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
