Majid Majidi Feels More Famous In India Than His Own Country

We know that acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s first Indian film ‘Beyond The Clouds’ is just about to release, the movie has already won accolades in the Film Festivals, it stars Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan in the lead role. He said that he has always wanted to make a movie on Indian story, as he has always admired Satyajit Ray’s work. In a recent interview, he said that it’s a great honour for him to be here in India with Indian artists and all the big Indian names. “I came to know about Indian cinema with Satyajit Ray’s film, the famous Indian director, and it has always been my dream to make a film on Indian story, there’s so much in here which is unexplored”, he said. This certainly is a big thing for Indian Film Industry as one of the best filmmakers came here to make a movie, it would be interesting to see his views in this movie, he has made movie like ‘Children Of Heavens’ and ‘Colors Of Paradise’, which has won him appreciation all over the world, he has also received the Oscar nomination for his directorial work of ‘Children Of Heavens’. ‘Beyond The Clouds’ is moving all over the world in the Film Festivals, it will be Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter’s first movie, he has already signed his first Bollywood film with Karan Johar’s ‘Dhadak’, which will be the Hindi remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’. For the female lead, we have Malavika Mohanan, who is a known face in Malayalam film Industry but this will be her first Hindi film.
