Indian Music need respectable platform : Sonu Nigam
Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam said few days back that Music industry has be changed and actors like him have limited options. Now people are getting attracted towards Hip Hop, Jazz, Rap songs. However, he also believes that for the development of India's own musical style a respectable platform needed.
Sonu said, 'Being a musician, I know the value of Indian classical music and what I think with Pure classical music genre, ghazals and bhajans also needs respectable growth opportunities.'
Asked whether Indian music has moved the realms of film music, Sonu said, 'I wouldn’t say it has moved beyond films but, yes, releasing independent music is my intent. And an online digital release today reaches out to audiences worldwide in one single click of your finger.'
Sonu also said that having a discography of film songs and independent tracks completes the life of a singer in India and he get chance to do it, which he is not able to do with the film.
When asked about getting back in the field of acting in Bollywood, 'I am in a very balanced space in terms of my work and my life. Till the time any subject or work don't excites me.' Sonu said that it is not possible for him to take out 100 days for the film, but he has worked in films like "Kash Aap Hamare Hote" and "Jaani Dushman".
