Shivaji Lotan Patil who has won National Award for Marathi film 'Dhag', now this time he has tried to show the incidents happened during the time of Emergency in the year 1984. This film is already screened in Many film festival, because of not getting censored, its release date is changed much time. Well before this also, films are made which showed the time during the state of emergency, like Aandhi, Kissa Kursi Ka, Lok Parlok and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. Now come lets know who this film '31 October' is : Story : Based on the backdrop of Delhi, this film 31 October, is the story from that day Morning till the late night. On this day, India's former PM Indira Gandhi was shot and killed and everywhere riots were started. During this Devender Singh (Vir Das) and his wife Tejinder Kaur (Soha Ali Khan) also try hard to get save in this riots, but will his friends and close ones will be able to save them from this riot. This you will get to know in the theaters. Weakness : In the film, such big case is shown, but you won't be able to connect yourself during that time because of its dialogue. The screenplay of the film is very weak, whereas way of showing it is also very bad. Vir Das is playing a Sikh character, but he was not at all able to connect himself with the audience. Riots which happened because of Emergency is shown very limited, which could have been made much better as this subject is very attractive. Soha Ali Khan who is also seen after a long time has done satisfactory work, but in few scenes, she has done amazing work.
