‘1921’ Day Wise Box Office Collection Budget Hit or Flop

Released on January 12, 2018, Vikram Bhatt’s horror thriller 1921 earned 1.56 crore on the opening day. The second Friday of the month witnessed a tough fight at the box office as three films were released on the same day. Kaalakaandi and Mukkabaaz remain the other two films to put up stiff challenge at the Box Office. The Box Office Collection on the first day was predicted to amass 1.56 crore. The collection reports show that the film did not rise up to the predictions as it earned only one crore. The makers are confident of a bounce back in the weekend and Sunday where the flow to the theatres are normally higher. It is not time to judge and give the verdict as a hit or flop but considering the budget and the first day Box Office Collection, we can say that the film is going to make no loss to the producers. The collection history till date shows that the films with a good opening always performed well. As there were two more films hitting the screens on the same day, 1921 got only fewer screens for its release. This also affected the collection at the Box Office. The film also faces tough competition from Salman Khan Starrer action flick Tiger Zinda Hai. A sequel to the 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger hit the theatres as Christmas 2017 release. The movie is still gathering good chunks at the Box Office. How far will 1921 can put up with the tough competition? We will have to wait and see this. Written, Directed and produced by Vikram Bhatt, the horror film 1921 has Zarine Khan and Karan Kundra in the lead roles. It is the fourth installment in the 1920 film series.
