Weekend Box Office Report Of 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'

This Friday we witnessed the release of Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. From the trailers and the music the movie appeared to be a cute love story from a small town of Uttar Pradesh and after its release, it proved to be a movie with a heart and everything else at the right place. The movie has been receiving rave reviews even though it began on a modest note on Friday. But on the following day, the movie has shown good growth at the Box Office. Where on Friday the movie earned Rs. 2.42 crore, it made Rs 3.85 crore on first Saturday, making the total as Rs 6.27 crore. The movie showed a growth of 59%, and it is expected to reach good numbers with the positive word of mouth. The movie is helmed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari whose last release was ‘Nil Battey Sannata’. The movie tells a story of a new age girl Bitti Mishra role played by Kriti Sanon, daughter of sweatshop owner in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The girl has big dreams and wants to marry a man who would respect and accept her as she is. One day Bitti gets across a novel by writer Pritam Vidrohi role played by Rajkummar Rao and falls for him. She wants to meet him as she is impressed by his progressive views and in order to find him, she takes help of Chirag Dubey role played by Ayushmann Khurrana who runs a printing press.
