Voice raised against system : 12 Filmmakers returned their National Award
Film and Television Institute which resulted in fierce on Wednesday that it is the largest protest so far by bollywood. Dibakar Banerjee, who made film like 'Byomkesh Bakshi', 'Khosla ka Ghosla' and ' Love Sex aur Dhoka' along with 12 filmmakers have lodged a protest on returning the National Award.
After returning the award, he said we are against the murder of writer like M.M Kalburgi and Govind Pansare and we are returning the award to supporting the students at FTII who are running movement.Apart from filmmakers Dibakar Banerjee and Anand Patwardhan, Paresh Kamdar, Nishtha Jain, Kirti Nakwa, Harshwardhan Kulkarni, Hari Nair, Rakesh Sharma, Indraleen Lahiri, Leepika Singh, Prateek Vats and Vikrant Pawar have also returned their nation award. Let me tell you, after growing voilence in society, writers Murder and Dadri violence, 40 writers have returned their Sahitya Akademi Award.

Dibakar said, 'What is FTII is happening is also happening in the Institute in rest of the country, so in the against we are returning the award. However, Anand Patwardhan hoped that other filmmakers will support him in this campaign.
On returing the National Award, FTII Chairman Gajendra Chouhan said that the decision of returning award is not correct. Students should think again about their movement and protest. "The students should come and meet me. This dispute can be resolved through talks.
