Bollywood has given us some of the best top 10 comedy movies and it is one of the favourite genres to watch. In the 1990s the genre became the most successful one. The comic timings of Jhonny Lever, Kader Khan and Govinda are still remembered. From late 90's and early 2000's a new era of Bollywood movies started and it gave a birth to new types of comedy films. HERA PHERI: - 'Hera Pheri' hands down is one of the best comedy films ever made. The movie was released in 2000 and completely changed the face of Indian Comedy. Actor Akshay Kumar who was famous for doing action movies showcased his excellent comic timing in the movie and it made him one of the most favourite comedy actors. And of course who can forget Babu Rao Ganpat Rao Apte, played by Paresh Rawal.
WELCOME: - Another Akshay Kumar movie 'Welcome' is considered to be one of the best comedy films. The 2007 film had interesting characters in it Uday Bhai and Majnu Bhai, played by Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Everyone at some point in time has watched this movie and laughed. Some scenes including Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Paresh Rawal are iconic.
MUNNA BHAI MBBS: - This movie 'Munna Bhai MBBS' was a masterpiece. The movie helped the actor Sanjay Dutt rebuilt his career as it went on to be one of the biggest hits of 2003. The iconic duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi was electrifying. The two were loved so much in the movie that the makers later came with the second installment with them in 'Lage Raho MunnaBhai'
3 IDIOTS:- '3 Idiots' is the most successful film ever made in Bollywood. Rajkumar Hirani just cannot do anything wrong with his content and this movie proves it. It had philosophy, emotion, humour and comedy. It was a very powerful movie that took a dig on the education system and it completely changed the perception of people. The teacher’s day speech by Chatur Ramalingam, played by Omi Vaidya just cannot be forgotten.
KHOSLA KA GHOSLA:- The extremely underrated film, which everyone thought would be another come and go movie turned out to be a classic cult comedy movie. Performances of Actors like Anupam Kher and Boman Irani along with Ranvir Shorey and Pravin Dabas, did an awesome job to make this low budget movie a super hit.
DHAMAAL: - The 2007 film which cast Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aashish Chaudhary and Javed Jaffrey was a laughter riot. From the moment it starts till it ends, you just laugh. There are multiple laughter moments in the movie like the aeroplane scene and finding W scene. It is one of the best comedy films for sure.
QUEEN: - The movie starred Kangana Ranaut and it was an unexpected masterpiece. Kangana has given one of the best female performances of all time. The movie felt real and the placement of humour was just too good. The scene where Kangana cries in her typical accent of a Delhiet makes you laugh. She goes to London for her honeymoon alone, she makes new friends there and their conversations are hilarious.
Golmaal: Fun Unlimited - This Rohit Shetty film changed his personality as the comedy film director. And this movie was a gem, everyone criticises Tusshar Kapoor that he can’t act, and that’s true. But he is made for his role in Golmaal. He just fits for that mute character, and he is one of the best parts of the movie.
PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA: - This unexpected super hit film changed the perception of relationships forever. It shows the problem happens in relationships and it is hilarious. No one expected this film to be a superhit, considering its fresh star cast but this is one of the films which will be remembered forever. The five-minute monologue of Karthik Aryan where he complains about his girlfriend will give you laughter attack.
DHOL: - This movie was released with ‘Dhamaal’ which is listed in our list above. The movie was hilarious every second. And hands down Rajpal Yadav stole the show. There are multiple scenes in the movie which will make you laugh out loud. From Rajpal Yadav creating trouble for his friends to the desperate friends trying to get the girls, every bit of it is hilarious.
