Sons fight over the bedroom of late actress and the favorite MOTHER of Bollywood Nirupa Roy

Late actress Nirupa Roy, who's played the role of maa in a number of yesteryear Bollywood movies, has her real-life sons embroiled in a dispute over her spacious apartment at Nepean Sea Road (Mumbai), and who are now fighting to take over her bedroom. Both the sons, Kiran, 45, and Yogesh, 57, have their claims over the bedroom, saying their "sentiments" are attached to the said room. The 3,000 sq. ft. ground floor house at Embassy Apartments has an 8,000 sq. ft. garden, and the fight over it began soon after Nirupa's death in 2004. After the death of Nirupa's husband Kamal Roy in November 2015, the dispute landed in court. And now the property stands at a value which is worth Rs 100 crore. Nirupa Roy born on 4 January 1931 – 13 October 2004 was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi films. Roy was mostly known for portraying character roles of the Indian mother. She played leading roles in her early films and started playing mother roles during the 1970s and 1980s. Her acting career spanned more than 50 years, and she acted in more than 275 films. She was referred to as the "queen of misery" in Hindi cinema. In the 1970s, her roles as mother to the characters played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor made her name synonymous to the impoverished suffering mother. Her role in Deewar (1975) and its dialogues with reference to a mother and son are still memorable.
