Roy Kapur Films production house of Siddharth Roy Kapur has bagged the rights of the bestseller novel 'The Anarchy: The Relentless Rise Of The East India Company' by William Dalrymple. The book that dates back to the history set in the 18th century is already a hit among people. Interestingly, Siddharth Roy Kapur has acquired the audio-visual rights of the historical novel and is geared up to transform the book into a full-fledged series. While series and shows have gained popularity over movies in dark times like these, Siddharth has decided to adapt the novel into a series. The bestselling book, The Anarchy narrates the climb of The East India Company in the 18th century, while the Mughal empire on the other hand saw a backdrop in its reign. Siddharth believes that William Dalrymple's colonial novel would rightly fit into the day-today life displaying the true story of a company taking control over a subcontinent.
According to reports, the series is all set to carry a big budget and is to be produced on a large scale. For the new series, the producer has reportedly planned to collaborate in a big team of writers, creators, showrunners from the international ground for a wonderful adaptation of the famous novel into a series. As per reports, Siddharth Roy Kapur while talking about the movie said that he believes that a movie or a series must reverberate with the audience for which the show should be compelling, relevant and authentic. Siddharth expressed his joy of having a chance to work with William Dalrymple. Reportedly, the author also expressed his joy of having got a chance to get his book transformed into a series. Besides, William also called the chance "an incredibly exciting moment".
