Shah Rukh has to face Akshay at the box office after Raees-Kaabil clash

Mumbai: This year's Republic Day saw one of the biggest clashes in the box office when Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ conflicted with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ where the pre-release time was not exactly a stable business. And on Independence Day, two big movies are again set to battle again. Akshay Kumar’s awaited movie ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ will clash with the Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer movie directed by Imtiaz Ali. Unexpectedly, Akshay Kumar was the first to announce Independence 2017 as the release date for his movie ‘Crack’ which is to be directed by Neeraj Pandey. When Shah Rukh later declared the same release date for the Imtiaz Ali directorial, it was again named as a clash among the two superstars. However, it was barely when Akshay announced his four movies of the year, ‘Jolly LLB 2’, ‘2.0’, ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Padman’ did it become obvious that ‘Crack’ won’t be releasing this year. And just when we believed that the SRK-starrer would be an only release, now ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’, which was earlier set for a June 2 release, has been advanced ahead and will now release on August 11 too. Popular trade critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to declare the news. Incidentally, Independence Day last year had witnessed another big clash, between Akshay’s ‘Rustom’ and Hrithik’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and it would now be fascinating to see how this SRK- Akshay clash would be separate from it. After the super success of ‘Airlift’, ‘Rustom’ & now ‘Jolly LLB’, Akshay Kumar has just enclosed the shoot of ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’. Producers of ‘Rustom’, KriArj Entertainment have united cards with Viacom 18 as the proud presenters of this movie and are holding up their consistent track record of making movies based on essential content and at the same time furnishing entertainment for one and all. This film has an unusual love story and also includes a social caricature which deals with tackling the hazard of open defecation and the developing mindsets of Indians as a combination. The movie went on grounds in Barsana near Mathura in November ‘16. The shooting spots along with Barsana and Nandgaon are in Uttar Pradesh and were also in Bhopal for the closing schedule. The authenticity of real locations of rural India and the hinterland grants the milieu to the tale which acquires its soul from the villages of India. With the shoot now finished and completed, the cast and crew are having serious withdrawal indications. ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’, an uncommon love story will see famous editor Shree Narayan Singh making his directorial debut, produced by Aruna Bhatia & Plan C Studios in partnership with Abuntuntia. The movie releases worldwide on 11 August 2017, with the clash with 'The Ring' of Shah Rukh Khan.
