Rekha Received 3rd National Yash Chopra Memorial Award

Classic actress Rekha is honoured with 3rd National Yash Chopra Memorial Award. The award is presented by the T. Subbarami  Reddy.
T. Subbarami Reddy, Jaya Prada, Simi Garewal, Boney Kapoor, Shashi,and Anu Ranjan were the Jury member and announced Rekha's name for the award at the press conference in Mumbai. Hema Malini was also part of jury, due to some reason she could not be present at the event. While Yahs Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra who was to be part of jury couldn't attend the Press Conference because of bad health
T.Subbarami said, “Rekha being a versatile actress acted in many Indian languages. She also covered many genres of films from commercial cinema even off beat films and serious cinema also. We juries had a long time discussion today. And we came up with the conclusion; we have decided to give the award this year to Rekha."
Simi Garewal said, “I am happy to be part of this jury for this award and I haven’t said this to Mr. Subbarami Reddy, but I really appriciate the efforts he is taking in keeping this award alive. It’s not in term of commercial game, its being done the way I see purely as a tribute to very good friend of his and a very good film maker Yash Chopra.”
Actress Jaya Prada who hasworked in many film with Rekha and they both share very special bond Said, “Today I am really happy to be part of this jury. First award was given to Lata Ji, second was given to Mr. Amitabh Ji and third will be honored to Rekha Ji. I had got chance to work with Rekha Ji in a movie and today I got an opportunity to be part of jury to select her and to recognize the talent I feel happy.
Rekha will receive gold medal and Rs. 10 lakh for the respectable title. The award ceremony will be held on 25th January 2016.
