'Raabta' Writers Claim That It Is Not A Copy Of ‘Magadheera’

The makers of 2009 South Indian film ‘Magadheera’ went to court with allegations that the story of upcoming film ‘Raabta’ is a copy of their script. ‘Raabta’ stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in the main lead. From the first look of the trailer, everyone thought that it is the remake of ‘Magadheera, but later the rumours were settled by the makers sharing that it is an original story. The writer of the movie claim that there is no plot similarity between the two films. Scriptwriter Garima said, “If the film is like Magadheera, then it is like any other reincarnation film. Then every filmmaker who has made a film on reincarnation and past life should slap a notice against us.” Garima also stated that she and Siddharth have worked five years in the story. She said that the makers of ‘Magadheera’ are free to go through our script and research material. The co-writer Siddharth said, “It's immature of them to file a case just on the basis of a trailer. They should have called up our director and asked for the private screening.” They also said that movies are the soft target pointing the latest controversy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, where no-one had any idea about the story but still got offended. Movie 'Raabta' is directed by Dinesh Vijan and it is his first movie as a director.
