A.R Rahman is going to get Japanese Fukuoka Award

A.R Rahman music has reached Japan. For his contribution in Asian Culture with the music, he will be awarded Japan's Fukuoka prize for 2016. For being part of Award function, Musician Rahman will be invited to give the lecture on the subject 'From The Heart : The World Of A.R Rahman Music'. He is been selected with Philippines Historian Dr. Ambeth R. Ocampo (academic award) and Yasmeen Lari (Pakistan/Architecture), winner of the Arts and Culture Prize. The Fukuoka Prize was established in 1990 to honor the outstanding work of individuals and organizations to preserve and promote the unique and diverse cultures of Asia. Ravi Shankar, dancer Padma Subrahmanyam, historian Romila Thapar, sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Ashish Nandy, Partha Chatterjee, Vandana Shiva, Nalini Malini and historian Ramachandra Guha are those Indian who are honoured with this award. Other winners include Nobel laureates Muhammad Yunus (Bangladesh) and Mo Yan (China). Rahman is a Multi Talented artist. Along with Music Composer, he is a singer, Song writer and Music Producer. Rahman has been honoured with National Film Award, Oscar Award, Grammy Award, Filmfare Award and many more.
