Review: The movie ‘Sameer’ is a stretched thriller that gives a detailed look at how the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in India functions when they get a clue of terrorist threats, mainly Islamic extremism. It shows us how mindless reactions in the upper strata of the security establishment affect the people on the street. Very accurately, it reveals the political machinery in our country which uses institutions of power to their own advantage. The movie starts with a disclaimer that mentions that the movie is not made with intent to offend anyone and it remains on the screen for a whole minute assuring and why you understand that an hour into the movie.
The movie is an edge-of-the-seat thriller, and it keeps you hooked till the very end. But the best part is the way the filmmaker has minced no words. The director Dakxin Chhara has left No political party, religion or institution off the hook. The performance of the actors is gripping and flawless and that also strengthens the screenplay.
Why To Watch: This low-budget thriller ensure that you remain glued to your seats till the end and it is a story told with a brave and good intent and that makes it a good watch.
