Irrfan Khan was born on 7th January 1967 in Jaipur, Rajasthan to a Muslim Pathan family. Irrfan's real name is Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan and recently, he has changed the spelling of his name to "Irrfan" and said he likes the sound of the extra "r" in his name.Irrfan Khan is an Indian Actor and a TV Host, he is 6'6" long and has average body type with mixed dark and fair complexion. Irrfan is 47 years old and he has a vast family. His mother, 'Begum', was from the Tonk Hakim family, and his father, the 'late Jagirdar', was from the Khajuriya village near the Tonk district who ran a tyre business. And sister 'Rukhsana Begum' and two brothers 'Salman Khan, Imran Khan'. Irrfan had a girlfriend with whom he married later 'Sutapa Sikdar' on 23 February 1995. He has two sons and their name is 'Babil and Aryan Khan'. Khan was studying for his MA degree when he earned a scholarship to study at National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi in 1984. Even though Irrfan belongs to a Pathan family still he is vegetarian since childhood, due to which many a times his father teased him that he is born in" Brahmin family of Pathans". Irrfan moved to Mumbai, where he acted in numerous television serials, including 'Bharat Ek Khoj', 'Chanakya', Banegi Apni Baat, Chandrakanta, Sara 'Jahan Hamara, Shrikant (Doordarshan), Star Bestsellers (Star Plus), AnooGoonj on Doordarshan, and Sparsh'. He debuted in Bollywood industry in 1988 with 'Salaam Bombay'. After many unsuccessful films, things changed when London-based director Asif Kapadia gave him the lead in The Warrior in 2001. The Warrior opened in international film festivals, making Khan a known face. In 2003–04 he acted in Ashvin Kumar's short film, Road to Ladakh. In the same time, he also played the title role in the movie 'Maqbool', where he was an adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth. In 2004 he won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in film Haasil. In the year 2007, he also appeared in the box office hits Metro, for which he received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award, He also plays the police inspector role in the film Slumdog Millionaire which was released in the year 2008, for which entire cast of the movie won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Irrfan Khan played Dr Rajit Ratha in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' in 2012. Irrfan Khan played the adult version of Piscine "Pi" Molitor Patel in the film adaptation of 'Life of Pi'. He was next seen alongside Tom Hanks in the 2016 adaptation of Dan Brown's Robert Langdon thriller 'Inferno'. Irrfan Khan's net worth is $50 million as he takes $4 millions for a movie. In September 2015, he was appointed as the brand ambassador for "Resurgent Rajasthan", a campaign by the state government of Rajasthan.He was offered a big role in Interstellar, but turned it down as he was expected to stay in the USA for four months at a stretch.'LunchBox' is the only Indian movie to have ever won a TFCA – Toronto Film Critics Association Award.Irrfan Khan has decided to move out of his house on Madh Island here and shift to his new house in Andheri last year itself.Irrfan Khan has recently ordered a Black Mercedes GL 350.
