Gulzar acknowledges Tagore Seat at Punjab College

Writer lyricist Gulzar has acknowledged an offer to join the Tagore Seat at Panjab College as an educator. A college representative on Wednesday said the Oscar-winning lyricist would be conveying addresses at the college and cooperating with understudies and staff. “PU is happy that Gulzar, the well known writer, film chief and lyricist  has consented to expect the Tagore Seat of the college,” he confirmed. Ex PM Manmohan Singh had sometime back acknowledged an offer by PU to join the Jawaharlal Nehru Seat as educator. He will be rejoining his institute of matriculation after a crevice of more than 50 years. The ‘Dr. Manmohan Singh Seat’ in PU’s division of financial matters will be involved by driving market analyst and academician Yogendra K. Alagh. The past inhabitants of the Tagore Seat were recognized author and craftsmanship pundit Mulk Raj Anand and noted Hindi writer, abstract student of history, writer, faultfinder and researcher Hazari Prasad Dwivedi. “Gulzar’s acceptance of the seat is a matter of pride for the college since he will carry with him the huge respect for Tagore,” the Punjab University representative said. “The college will be advanced by the arrangement of addresses that Gulzar sahib will be conveying furthermore through the significant association with workforce, understudies, specialists, scholars and educated people crosswise over orders in this district which will be sorted out as a major aspect of the exercises of the Seat. “The Workforce of Dialects would like to increase much from his visit in the territories of experimental writing, interpretation studies and film hypothesis, and gain from his experience as an executive too an author of scripts and dialogs,” the PU representative said. Gulzar, who initially hails from Punjab, has been a beneficiary of Padma Bhushan, Sahitya Akademi Grant and the Dadasaheb Phalke ward. He has won a few National Film Grants, Filmfare Honors, an Oscar and a Grammy Recompense, the representative said. PU has prior regarded Gulzar with the main Sahitya Rattan Award.
