Government takes Film Industry very Lightly : Kabir Khan

Film Udta Punjab has united everyone in Bollywood. Everybody is raising it's voice because of this film. Recently Kabir Khan said that decision of High Court will give strength to directors but he thinks, now time has come when Government should take film industry seriously. Kabir Khan said, 'Decision of High Court was a big step on Monday. We did not needed any Intervention, but decision came. Kabir was speaking as part of the panel discussion on 'Soft Power, Hard Influence' along with Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup and Saffronart CEO Hugo Weihe. Court on Monday ordered Censor Board that to pass Udta Punjab with one cut and give it certificate under 48 hours as they could release their film on 17th June. Kabir said, 'This is a big step. It is going to motivate filmmakers to make films on the subjects of knowledge and if censor board chief doesn't agree with you, you still have the course to go to the court and get the film out. We should just continue making films which are important and relevant," he said that Kabir said that film industry often feels that the government takes them very lightly, it is a strong influential source across the world. Kabir said, 'In industry, sometime we feel like that Government takes us lightly. That this is all about song and dance and 'tamasha'. They need to uderstand that Bollywood is a very strong influence across the world. We need to recognise it.'
