With 13 cuts and 'A' Certificate, film Udta Punjab has been passed : Pehlaj Nihalani

Censor Board has passed film Udta Punjab. Udta Punjab has been passed after 13 cuts and with A certificate. Censor Board Chief Pehjal Nihalani said that he never had problem with the name 'Udta Punjab'. Had problems with some dialogues and words. Because of this media and producer prepared air against them. He said that my committee 8 team member saw the film, after giving 13 cuts and gave permission to release with A certificate. Now the decision that court and tribunal takes, we will implement it. Nihalani said this change of censor board is not of today. It is been happening from 70's. Be it be action in the film, Romance or dialogue, discussion is done on it. With coming on this chair last year, I studies and started doing changes. Broadcast Ministry was also given suggestion that U, A and U/A certificate should have changes. Nihalani said that he is been connected to Industry for 50 years. He knows it well that how a film is easily passed. So after studying, he closed those loop lines. Censor Board has given U certificate to Punjabi film 'Dhi Punjab Di'. This film is also based on drugs like Udta Punjab. This fil is releasing on 19th August.
