I Want To Do Comedy On Screen But The Script Should Not be Stupid Says Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao has done many content driven and meaningful films in the past, he has won the National Award for his performance in the 2013 movie ‘Shahid’ and now his year his movie ‘Newton’ is the official Indian entry for the Oscars; well, from the starting only the actor has chosen his roles very wisely and intelligently, starting off his career with ‘Love Sex Aur Dhikha’, Raj went on to do intense roles in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’, ‘Shahid’, ‘Citylights’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘Trapped’ and now ‘Newton’. Well, now recently Rajkummar has started doing comedy too, he was recently seen in movies like ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and proved that he can do anything. He got an appreciation for both the films, in a recent interview Rajkummar said that he would love to do more comedy films but the script should make sense. “I want to try, explore, and experiment in every genre, whether its comedy, romantic or anything I just want to act. I am a huge fan of ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’, I like that kind of comedy, if someone like Rajkumar Santoshi comes to me with such script, I’ll definitely do it, but the script should make sense if it doesn’t then there’s a no from me”, he said. Rajkummar Rao, who will be seen in ‘Bose: Dead Or Alive’ next, also said that he loved the recent movies like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Hindi Medium’, which is a different kind of comedy. “I am exploring myself right now, I just want to play more and more characters, I enjoy that”, he said. He will be playing the role of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the web series ‘Bose: Dead Or Alive’.
