Vidya Balan Is Not Doing Meena Kumari Biopic Anymore

Vidya Balan, who is getting ready for her next release ‘Tumhari Sulu’ made some statement about her upcoming project. Earlier, it was speculated that Vidya Balan will do the Meena Kumari biopic, but now, it looks like Vidya is in no mood to say set for the movie. Well, ‘Tumhari Sulu’ will be Vidya’s second movie of the year after ‘Begum Jaan’, where she will portray the role of a radio jockey. Vidya, in a recent interview, said that she loves Meena Kumari and she was her girl crush but she can’t do the movie because the filmmaker just wants to show the story on a single aspect. “If you are making a biopic, you have to take certain responsibilities; you have to show the entire story of that person and not just focus on a single aspect”, she said. She revealed that the filmmaker wants to make this movie to grab the eyeball. Talking about the biopic, she said, “The script has to do justice to that person, it just can’t be a sensational account of her life, there are different episodes a person’s life and in a biopic, you must show that”. She also mentioned that she did a controversial film in ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was also sensational but it had the story and audience knew why her character was the way she was. Criticizing the makers of the biopic, Vidya Balan said, “You just can’t make the biopic on Meena Kumari in the sake of sab dekhenge, even though she is not around, I respect her as an artist”. Well, it looks like Vidya is not happy with the way the makers want to make this biopic.
