Soorma Review: Laced With The Incredible Sportsmanship By Sandeep Singh (Diljit Dosanjh)

PLOT: The incredible hard-hitting story of Legend Sandeep Singh, The career-building struggle in the world of hockey, his heart tearing accident that left everyone and the country in the state of shock and remorse. Sandeep Singh (Diljit Dosanjh) hail from the village of Shahabad, Punjab. As a kid, Fascinated over the charm of Hockey got himself enrolled for hockey training under Coach Kartar Singh (Danish Husain). But his teaching skills were beyond the understanding of young Sandeep it was way too strict that made him quit hockey forever in his childhood. When the adulthood strikes he got himself back in the national game of country hockey when he falls for Harpreet(Tapsee Pannu) and gave an attempt to woe her for marriage.

REVIEW: Soorma makes you travel back to the crown city of hockey, a northern part of nation Shahabad, Haryana. a small town that gives the young boys & girls dreams and wings along to play high with the aim to reach the golden spot of hockey team India. The land also gave the country the legend the drag-flicker Sandeep Singh. Writer-Director Shaad Ali story seems quite inspiring and astonishing over the same time, the first half of the story revolves around the making of the star he is today, how did hockey come back into his life as it took a setback in the childhood due to a strict coach and his love Harpreet a hockey player that motivated him to get his feet back to the field. His career was flying high, in the same manner, his goals were striking right. The selection in Indian hockey team,  He was sure to get married to his beloved but then something happened which neither he or county asked for even in wild dreams.  On August 22, 2006, he got accidentally shot while travelling in the train during the hockey world cup time. That changed his life forever, the struggle to get back on the feet will give you shiver down to your spine, the transformation from a paralysed disabled to the come back on the national team and making the country win at Asian Cup against Pakistan is beyond amusing. Soorma is the story of Sandeep Singh, his life, family, lover and hockey is a part of it. Diljit Dosanjh Acting is amazing and fits perfect for the role for the biopic. His acting seems too effortlessly and delightful and he played the role of Sandeep in such an incredible way that makes you doubt over his career path and see him, a potential person, to get us more goals in the hockey game. he took the role in depth and Soorma belong all to him. Taapsee Pannu (Harpreet Singh) has done an incredible job but the movie shows less of her and lacks a bit more especially in the second-half. Angad Bedi as Bikramjeet Singh, the elder (brother) was wonderful in his work. he showed us the struggle of rejection you faced from your dream place and the pillar of support in brother's life in happy days and hard phases too, makes you feel bad and give me respect he all deserved. The unsung hero of his life. Reason to Watch: Shaad Ali narration was superb he has showcases the true events of his life on a big screen in such an incredible way. The movie will leave in the thought of  Patriotism towards your national game, Importance of family and a true spirit of sportsmanship.
