Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Firangi’ released this Friday. Kapil Sharma rose to fame with his comedy show Comedy Nights With Kapil. Kapil is unarguably the most popular comedian in India. However, 2017 has not been a good year for the comedian. Kapil would be hoping that his latest film ‘Firangi’ would change his fortune.
Firangi didn’t get a good start at the box office window. The movie had a poor start, as it earned mere Rs. 2.10 Crore on first Friday. The movie showed a reasonable growth on Saturday and Sunday, as it grossed Rs. 2.05 Crore and approx Rs. 2.23 Crore respectively. This takes Firangi Weekend Collection to Rs. 6.38 Crore. The movie is slightly better in East Punjab and NCR region, however, rest of the places are very poor. The movie is going to find it tough to earn after the first week.
Firangi is the second film of Kapil Sharma, who made his Bollywood debut with ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karun’. His first film was a smashing hit at the box office, but the same can’t be said about ‘Firangi’. The movie failed to impress critics as well as the audience. Poor words of mouth have also not helped the movie at all.
‘Firangi’ is a period comedy film set in the pre-independent era. The movie is directed by Rajiev Dhingra. The movie features Kapil Sharma, Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in the lead roles. The movie is also produced by Kapil himself.
In another new, Kapil is all set to come back on TV early next year. His show will be aired on Sony TV. The channel and Kapil have confirmed the news.
