Box Office Prediction 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' And 'Gurgaon'

The first month of the new year 2017 witnessed Shahrukh Khan’s release ‘Raees’ which went on to be Rs. 100 crores grosser at the Box Office. Now that Shah Rukh is coming back with ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, and a huge responsibility lies on the movie, as the industry desperately needs a big grosser at the Box Office. If we look at the current Box Office scenario, we haven’t had a single Hindi film has turned out to be even a reasonable grosser after the movie ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and that was back in March. Many movies like, ‘Raabta’, And ‘Tubelight’ were expected to do well at the Box office but they turned out to be disappointing. To some extent ‘Hindi Medium’ did well but its audience was limited and so was the case with movie ‘MOM’. Now the industry needs is a movie that goes past 150 crore mark and then preferably even enters the Rs. 200 Crore Club. And this can definitely be expected from a Shah Rukh Khan movie. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ appears to be a musical romantic movie and looking at the past success of Shahrukh and Anushka together, the movie is expected to open big. The movie is expected to open on Friday at least at Rs. 10 Crores. And in the weekend, including Monday as it is an extended weekend due to the festival of Rakhi, the movie is expected to cross at least Rs. 40 Crores. Later in the next week, the collections of the movie might get hampered with the release of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, but considering it to be Shah Rukh’s movie, the movie is predicted to enter at least the 100 Crore Club. The other release on the same date is 'Gurgaon' which belongs to a completely different genre. The movie has been appreciated at International Festivals and now will be released for Indian audiences. The movie made in a decent budget is expected to earn 0.90 crores on its first day. And later on, it might pick up the pace, with the word of mouth.
