Big Blow to Prakash Jha, his P&M Mall in Patna may soon shut down

Filmmaker Prakash Jha has got big blow. His mall P&M in Patna can shout down soon. Bihar Government has cancelled the lease of that land, where his mall is made. Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has given this order. P&M Mall is the states first Multi Cineplex, which was made 5 years ago. On 7th February, 2012, BIADA gave an order that the mall is liable to pay 10 per cent of the revenue to the government agency, if it chooses to sub lease the space in the mall to another party. According to mall officials, the amount calculated from the date the order was passed, till the present, amounts to Rs 40 lakhs. Officials tried paying this amount to BIADA, but they did not accepted. The BIADA is demanding an amount of Rs 2.14 crore. Bihar Industries Minister Jai Kumar Singh said that issue of pending payments against P&M Mall came up during a review meeting of the department around two months ago. Not only P&M Mall is singled out. Almost there are orders of cancelling 57 cases. However, mall authorities are planning to move the High Court against the order. They are also planning to file an appeal to the Principal Secretary of the Industries Department.
