UNESCO to screen Indian short film in Indonesia

UNESCO is going screen Indian short film titled “Azaad” as a part of a World press Freedom Day event on 3rd May in Jakarta, Indonesia. “Azzad” is a short film directed by Rahul V. Chittella and features Atul Kulkarni and Sakshi Tanwar. Rahul Chittella has been mentored by acclaimed director Mira Nair. In addition to directing, he has also written the short film. “Azaad” tells the story of the dysfunctional relationship between a father and his son. The event to celebrate the principle of freedom of the press will be held in Jakarta starting from 1st May and will end on 4th May 2017. Chittella is also going to speak on the “Artistic freedom in globalizing times”. The publicist of the director has released the statement. Chittella said, “We are all so glad that the film has turned out to be an honest one and has connected with such a wide audience. It's a privilege to have an organization like Unesco invite us to showcase our film” He further added, “The film speaks about freedom of expression in current times and what better way to share this with journalists across the globe.” “Azaad” is directed by Rahul V. Chittella and produced by Antara Banerjee and Naved Farooqui of Mastercut Pictures. It is presented by Mira Nair.
