Plot - The Akshay Kumar acted this film is basically set on 1959 which is basically inspired by a true incident of Nanavati case. The story of the film is revolves around a Parsi man Rustom Pavri who is commander in Indian navy and lives in Mumbai with his beautiful NRI wife and two daughters. Because Rustom is an Indian Navy officer so he most of the time live far away from home on any mission.
Then his wife lives lonely without Rustom but she falls in love with Rustom's close friend spent so much time with him. On the other hand one day Rustom caught his wife red handed with his friend and decides to sue his friend in court. In Court his friend's sister stated that his friend is ready to marry Rustom's wife but his wife had to take divorce from Rustom Pavri. In which Rustom's wife agrees on that she wants to take divorce from the Rustom. In that situation Rustom agrees to make suicide for his wife that she can live happy with friend but his wife's get agree to live happy with Rustom.
Then one day Rustom as he made a promise to family that they will go for a movie date so they went to a cinema and starts seeing movie. In the midst of film Rustom left his familly in the cinema hall and promises to receive them at the last. And after leaving cinema hall Rustom reaches his friend's home and asks him to marry with his wife but his friend says I can't marry every girl who loves me so in the anger Rustom shots his frieind who got dead. At the last Rustom surrendered to police but the Governor left him after a three year's prison and Rustom left the country.
