Karan Johar claimed he hardly knows Ajay Devgan

In an brief interview with renowned journalist Barkha Dutt, Karan Johar spoke his heart out about not knowing anything about Bollywood star Ajay Devgan. This remark comes months after he wrote in his autobiography about strained relationship with Ajay's wife Kajol. In his recently released Autobiography An Unsuitable Boy, KJo claimed that two and half decade long friendship between him and Kajol ended during the release of his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, whose release date coincided with Ajay Devgan's Shivaay. When asked about friendship with Ajay Devgan, the producer-director claimed he was never a friend. " I have never known him (Ajay)," said the film-maker. "I have no relation with that man. I never did. He always was Kajol's husband. He's not even an acquaintance. He's just a man in her life for me."  added a straightforward Karan. About KJo's strained relationship with the actress, with whom he did movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khusi Kabhie Gham, wrote in his autobiography: “I don’t have a relationship with Kajol anymore. We’ve had a fallout. Something happened that disturbed me deeply which I will not talk about because it’s something that I like to protect and feel it would not be fair to her or to me. After two and half decades, Kajol and I don’t talk at all. We just acknowledge each other, say ‘hello’ and walk past.” Despite not making it clear why the friendship ended, it has been guessed that Kajol's refusal to promote Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as it coincided with Ajay's directorial debut Shivaay, led to the fallout.
