Aparna Singh has made her directorial debut with the film Irada after assisting directors like Anurag Kashyap and Tigmanshu Dhulia. She has taken Arshad and Naseeruddin Shah duo in the India's first Eco-Thriller film. Story The story of the film is set in Punjab where retired Parabjit Walia (Naseeruddin Shah) lives with his daughter Riya (Rumana Molla). He makes his daughter for the training of civil services. They father-daughter lives in an area which is nearby Peddy's (Sharad Kelkar) factory. The poisonous gasses water emanating from the factory to under earth through reverse boring. Which later comes as the drinking water into the nearby area. Riya also gets sick due to that water and when the complaint goes to CM Ramandeep (Divya Dutta) she also gives support to Peddy. In the midst of this story, journalist Simi (Sagarika Ghatge) also comes in the story. Now, who did that blast and will Arshad Warsi caught them it gets to know in the climax of the film. Performances Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi once again have done a good work and especially the conversation between both are very good. Divya Dutta looks perfect as the corrupt CM. Other actors like Sagarika Ghatge, Sharad Kelkar, and Rumana Molla have also done good work. Direction The direction of the film is brilliant, Aparna has done great work. She has written a good script and especially the dialogues which make the story interesting. Locations, Art Work, and Cinematography are also very good. Music The background score of the film is good and a Lori Neeraj Sridhar's voice written by Sameer Anjan is also very good. Why to watch If you like to watch good performances and especially when there are actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, then it is a treat to watch. You can also watch this film as social message drama but it will surely bore the people who love masala films with item songs.
