The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 that held on 11th August was a star-studded event and was attended by the paparazzi of Bollywood which include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao, Konkona Sen Sharma and many others.
The movies ‘Dangal’ and ‘Bahubali 2’ stole the show at the event with a galore of awards. Actor Sushant and Rajkummar won accolades for their performances in ‘MS Dhoni’ and ‘Trapped’ respectively. The movie ‘Lipstick under My Burkha’ won the Best Indie Film award. Best Director went to Nitesh Tiwari for Dangal and Rahul Bose for ‘Poorna’.
Best Actress award went to Konkona Sen Sharma for her movie ‘Lipstick Under my Burkha’ and Best Film went to movie ‘Pink’.
Apart from this at the prestigious festival, Karan Johar was awarded the Leadership in Cinema Award and he presented the IFFM Diversity Award to Garth Davis who was the director of the Academy nominated film ‘LION’.
Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also present at the event and was awarded the Westpac IFFM Excellence in Global Cinema award.
Sushant Singh Rajput And Karan Johar apart from a short speech at the event went to their social media accounts to thank IIFFM for the honour they received.
