Anupam Kher Replaces Gajendra Chauhan As The New FTII Chief

Anupam Kher is one of the most respected actors of India and over the years it was speculated that he should be the chief of FTII and now finally after all these years, he has been appointed as the chief of the institute. Now, there was a controversy in FTII when Gajendra Chauhan was the chief, student’s boycotted classes for 139 days in opposition to Chauhan’s appointment and now finally he is out and Anupam Kher is in. Anupam Kher has quite a resume to be the chief of the Institute, he has done more than 500 movies and over 300 plays. He has won awards like Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016, now that is it to call him a living legend. He has won a number of awards for his craft; he started his career with Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial ‘Saaransh’ and after that, he never looked back, his career sky rocketed and soon he became one of the most respected actors of all time. Some of his films, where he was appreciated for his performance are ‘Saaransh’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Mara’, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘A Wednesday’, and the list goes on, if we talk about his films, we will be out of time. He has also worked in many Hollywood movies as well, he is a global figure. Kher is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Ranchi Diaries’, which is produced by him. The movie looks interesting and compelling; it is a story of five friends from the small town of Ranchi finding the way to make it big. Anupam Kher will be seen in an important role in the movie. It will hit the screens on 13th October.
